What is the Difference between Refacing and Resurfacing?
Although you will see these terms used interchangeably there is a difference between the two things.
- Resurfacing. This is the process of changing the colour of your current cabinet doors and drawer fronts. Usually, this means taking the doors and drawers off of your cabinets and getting them painted. There are a number of different things that can happen, from sanding them down and restaining them, to painting over the current stain. Most people who choose this route are going from a wood colour stain to white. White cabinets are very popular and many people who buy older homes simply update the kitchen by painting the cabinets white, adding some new moulding and that is it.
